This week I started back to work as a nurse in Labor and Delivery...its a very different environment, and it's going to take some getting used to. It has been crazy busy this week, so i've just kinda been thrown into everything, but sometimes you learn best that way. I will say this job is rewarding in a different kind of way...getting to help bring a little baby into the world is just amazing to be apart of, but this week I found myself missing working on med/surg. Maybe it's because i've been working med/surg for 3 years now so i'm more comfortable and confident down there...but I truly miss it. I just feel so inexperienced in labor and delivery because I have no experience whatsoever there, not even personal experience...so it's been kinda frustrating... but I think once I'm up there for awhile I'll get used to it and things will get better... Don't get me wrong, it's been great up there and I have enjoyed it, I just miss working with more intense medical conditions and learning more and more....In labor and delivery, they do the same thing every day.... so I hope I don't lose interest. Anyway!!! Thats been my week! Next week is going to be crazy... a lot will be going on...but i'll definately have a couple blogs to post after next weekend, so keep your eye out!!!!

R.I.P. Our Moses
A couple days ago Moses started acting kinda different... he would dart around his tank all crazy, he wouldn't eat and by the next day he started getting this cotton looking stuff around his mouth. We found out that he had a fungal infection so we got him medicine and we thought it was working because he actually was swimming a bit again instead of laying in the rocks... But this morning when Jon got up for work our sweet Moses had passed away. I know ya'll are probably thinking i'm crazy, he's just a fish... but this fish meant more to me than anyone could ever understand. Jon got me this fish to keep me company when he deployed. That fish was who I came home to everyday while my husband was gone. Again, call me crazy but this fish saw all my tears, heard all my prayers as I cried through those tears, and was the one thing that would always listen. The way my grandma told me to look at it is... he was there for me through a hard time, and he pulled me through... he's served his purpose.
He truly was an awesome fish and Jon and I will miss him dearly.

Graduation/Birthday/WelcomeHome VACATION!!
This week Jon and I took off to Pigeon Forge Tennessee! We rented an AMAZING cabin in the mountains and spent the week relaxing and site seeing!!! It was so wonderful!!!
Here are some pics of our cabin

About 15 minutes from our cabin was a little town called Gatlinburg. It was a total tourist town, but it was PERFECT for us! On my birthday we decided to drive up there and go to the Ripleys Believe it or Not Aquarium! When we got there, we found out they give military personnel a 90% discount so we were able to go to all 5 Ripleys Museums! The Aquarium was by far our favorite, but all of them were neat to see. We were able to go to Ripleys Mirror Maze, the actual Ripleys Believe it or Not Museum, the Moving Museum [which was so painful! we got whiplash, the breath knocked out of us, and walked out of there totally nauseated, but we survived!] We also got to go to the Guinness World Record Museum. We had tickets to 2 putt putt places and the Ripleys Haunted House, but we didn't have time to putt putt, and the Haunted House just wasn't our type of fun...
but here are some pics from those outings!!!!

See the Shark!?!?

Jon with his shark!
A crazy Spider Crab!!!
Jon and I in the Ripley's Museum! haha
Birthday Dinner!
Overall this was just the perfect trip for us! We had an absolute blast! We are now home, mostly refreshed, and ready to start back to the real world!! Jon starts his ALS class on the 19th, and I head back to work here soon too!!! [But as a nurse now!!! :)] But until then, we are taking full advantage of our days off!!!!

Surprise Gone Wrong
As most of you know, I decided to fly to Clovis, NM a couple days ago since we had word it was still going to be awhile until Jon started to head home... Well, yesterday I was sitting on my couisns couch and an Alabama number popped up! I answered it... it was verizon wireless... the lady said "Hi, Mrs. McAtee we're calling to reconnect Jonathans phone and we need your permission.." I was like, "no, he's not in a place where he has access to his phone so I'm not connecting it yet!" "Well, he was trying to surprise you, but he's in the states and couldn't remember your social security number to reactive his line so we need your permission." I started crying I was so excited!!! So a couple minutes later my phone rang and this time, 'Hubby' popped up! He started laughing saying he was in Baltimore and was gunna go to Clovis to surprise me!!! Sad thing is, things haven't worked out for him to fly down here, so i'm cutting my trip short here in Peanutville, and heading back home to Florida tomorrow! He's home safe and we'll be together again tomorrrow!!!!
